Homework WB 08.05.19

Hello! I hope you had a pleasant break.

This week’s homework is as follows:

Reading

Farm Boy – Finish the book by Friday

Care Of Henry – Finish the book by Friday

Quackers – Finish the book by Friday

Flips and Spins – Whole book by Friday

Spelling

New spelling words will be issued today.

Miss Innes’ group have been asked to attempt a few active spelling tasks on any words they are finding tricky.

Other groups use this week’s sounds to complete 2 tasks from the homework grid for next Wednesday. If you need a new copy of the spelling grid you can download it here.

You can complete the work on blank paper, in the jotter or record the activity in another way. Your signature will be sufficient to show your child has completed work.

IDL

This week, we need your help. As part of our classroom display, we are wanting to create a permanent mural of wisdom from successful creators, learners and thinkers – sometimes known as inspirational quotes.

It could be from a successful artist, creator, leader, or sportsman. It can be from anyone, as long as it ties in with our new classroom ethos of promoting secure, creative, healthy, explorative learning. It could even be a quote from a member of your family or a friend.

Research or find good quotes, then write or print out at least three. Make sure to include the full name of the person who said it.

Numeracy and Maths

We have been learning lots of new things in maths since we arrived in Primary One. We really enjoy problem solving because we get to act out our strategies and work together to solve the problem. We have also been learning about adding three numbers, halving numbers and identifying right angles. Take a look at what we have learned so far this week.
