To enhance our Spotlight Skills work, I would be grateful if you could donate the following items – if you have them.

  • Old/obsolete/broken mechanical or electrical items that are laying in the back of a cupboard. These items will be taken apart and cannot be returned, so items that would otherwise go to landfill ONLY (No antiques or heirlooms!)
  • Clean pine or other softwood timber for use in our workbench area.
  • Spare or unwanted Philips (cross head) screwdrivers that you would be willing to donate to the school.
  • Plastic milkbottle tops – Green, red or blue type of thing.
  • Old, clean wooden boxes or palettes (let me know if you have these so i can judge how many to accept!)
  • Any old/ clean hinges, doorknobs, nameplates or ironmongery. Basically anything that can be connected with screws.

Thank you very much for your continued support

This week, we need your help. As part of our classroom display, we are wanting to create a permanent mural of wisdom from successful creators, learners and thinkers – sometimes known as inspirational quotes.

It could be from a successful artist, creator, leader, or sportsman. It can be from anyone, as long as it ties in with our new classroom ethos of promoting secure, creative, healthy, explorative learning. It could even be a quote from a member of your family or a friend.

Research or find good quotes, then write or print out at least three. Make sure to include the full name of the person who said it.

Red Nose Day 2019

Red Nose Day is on Friday 15th March!

The Braidbar Pupil Council members have organised some fundraising activities on this day. We would encourage children to come to school on Friday 15th March wearing an item of red, and/or a Red Nose Day accessory and to bring a chocolate donation. In the afternoon a chocolate tombola will take place and each class will be invited along for their chance to win! Tickets are priced at 20p each.

As well as this, the lovely dinner ladies are making some Red Nose Day jammy biscuits! These will be 40p (cash) and can be pre-ordered from Monday 11th March.

We can’t wait to raise some money for this worthwhile charity who help vulnerable people in the UK and internationally!
