Information for S5/6 – Glasgow University

Software Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship (GA) 4 year BSc hons degree is continuing without disruption and our Employers are still recruiting school leavers for a 2020 start with up to 60 places available.

This is a great opportunity for your students to secure their future education and career.

Employer Partners: Barclays; BBC; Leidos; Smarter Grid Solutions; and VeryConnect are all currently recruiting. You can check out all these opportunities here.

PLEASE NOTE SOME VACANCIES CLOSE THIS WEEK!

How do GA’s differ from a traditional degree?

Graduate Apprentices benefit from a job, a salary (starting salary circa £15k) and a degree (Software Engineering BSc Hons) at the same time. Applicants apply directly to the employers therefore not impacting UCAS submissions. We also flex a little on our entry requirement accepting B’s (at Highers or Advanced Highers) rather than our straight A norm.

It is a great option for students for whom Maths, Sciences and ICT related subjects are their strong point. Now is the perfect time for them to explore and apply – it is a short online process.

Full details about how the programme works, our employer partners, and how to apply can be found here.

As the GA Liaison Officer, I am on hand to chat to teachers, parents/carers and students who would like to find out more. All of whom can contact me directly at anna.doyle@glasgow.ac.uk
