We value financial education. That’s why we’re holding an interactive webinar that helps students aged 15-18 understand more about financial services and banking.

This 1-hour interactive webinar will explore:

• How a bank works
• How banks are navigating the current crisis
• An overview of the UK banking sector

There will also be a Q&A should there be any specific questions about financial services and banking.

You’re invited!

Presentations for schools and colleges

The Recruitment and International Office at the University of Strathclyde are pleased to be able to offer you a range of virtual presentations that you and your students can access from home. These include a programme of presentations for students considering Higher Education on topics such as:

• Choosing a course and a University
• UCAS and the personal statement
• Transition to University and Student Finance

You and your students can register for one of the dates provided or contact us through ugenquiries@strath.ac.uk and we may be able to arrange an alternative date for your school.

Virtual Visit Days

We will also be offering Virtual Visit Days throughout June and July that your students may wish to register for.  The virtual visit will include a presentation on the University of Strathclyde, our courses, facilities and student experience.  Students will also have the opportunity to speak to a member of the Recruitment Team and with our student ambassadors.  A virtual campus tour will also be available.  Please pass this information on to your students.

S6 Distribution Information:

To ensure we are following all procedures around health and safety please report to the school during the appropriate time slot. It is very important that you maintain social distance at all times when in the school.

All pupils should enter via the front entrance and proceed to the Street Area. Clear signage is in place to show the one way system that should be followed.

4 different stations have been set up.

LOCKERS – STATION 1

Your first task will be to report in to Mrs Tomlin and then proceed to empty your locker. You will need to bring a bag into which ALL contents should be transferred. No waste can be left in the school.

You should then go back to Mrs Tomlin who will return your deposit which is in an envelope.

Remove your £10 deposit from the envelope and then place your locker key in the envelope, seal and leave on the desk.

BOOK DROP – STATION 2

ALL texts books should be returned. Please place a small slip of paper inside the front cover which has your name and teacher written on it to allow us to update our records. Text books are a very expensive item for us so please have a check and make sure you are returning every book you have from the school.

PREFECT DINNER TICKET MONEY – STATION 3

If you paid for a prefect dinner ticket, you should report to this area where money (£13) is being refunded.

S6 YEAR BOOKS/HOODIES – STATION 4

Your final task is to go to the area where the Head prefect team are distributing hoodies and yearbooks to pupils who ordered and paid for these earlier in the session.

You must inform Mrs Mooney if you are unable to attend at the time allocated.

We are working to very strict procedures around having pupils in the school and there will not be the ability to accommodate the distribution of your items out with these times unless a prior arrangement is made.

Good morning new S2. Hope this finds you safe and well.
