Woodfarm Parent Partnership
What happens at our meetings?
The Parent Partnership meets with the Head Teacher, other members of the Senior Management Team and local Councillors regularly throughout the school year. These meetings are held 4 times a year. (see separate tab for exact dates).
At the meetings, we are informed and updated on many aspects of school life and often have interesting presentations from teachers, pupils or other relevant parties (e.g. East Renfrewshire Council). These meetings also give the Head Teacher the opportunity to seek the views of the Parent Partnership on a variety of topics relevant to the school.
Meetings are open to all members of the Parent Forum (i.e. parents/carers of pupils attending Woodfarm High School). You are very welcome to attend, however, because of space constraints within our meeting room, and health & safety considerations, we ask that you let us know in advance by either contacting the school office on 0141 577 2600.
What activities do we get involved in?
As members of the Parent Partnership , we have the opportunity to become involved in a variety of activities, such as:
- supporting improvements in the school’s performance by contributing our views on the School Improvement Plan and Standards & Quality Report.
- raising issues at meetings on behalf of members of the Parent Forum.
- Participating in interview panels for senior management positions and senior prefect roles.
- organising events and fundraising – the Events/Fundraising sub-group of the Parent Partnership arrange events to raise money for purchasing items that the schools own budget does not cover. This enhances pupils’ experiences in many areas of the school. The Parent Partnership always welcomes suggestions and volunteers for events; if you are interested in becoming involved please contact us.
- communications and promoting the school – the Communications/PR sub-group of the Parent Partnership work hard to ensure that the Parent Forum are kept informed of the Parent Partnership’s activities through the web pages and text messages. They are continually looking for opportunities to promote the good work and achievements of pupils and teachers at the school.
- ad hoc issues e.g. being involved in the implementation of the Senior Tie, the procedure for prefect elections, assisting at Christmas/Summer Fayres etc.
Most of all, it is important that the Parent Partnership does what it can to help ensure that all parents/carers, pupils and teachers at Woodfarm High School and its cluster Primary Schools, embrace a community/partnership approach. We are always striving to ensure that Woodfarm High School is the ‘school of choice’ for East Renfrewshire parents/pupils.
