A school improvement network is a working group including pupils, parents and teachers who are focussed on taking forward an aspect of school improvement to enhance the experiences of young people in the Williamwood community. These groups will make decisions and identify action points via in-person meetings and will utilise questionnaires and focus groups to ensure a wide base of views are taken account of. Please see below a short description of the key remit areas of each of the school improvement networks. Curriculum, Learning, Teaching and Assessment The focus of this School Improvement Network will primarily look into strategies to narrow the poverty related attainment gap. Development of the whole child This support network will look at different aspects of supporting our young people, for example, Developing the Young Workforce, Additional Support Needs and Support for Learning. Participation & Engagement This School Improvement Network will be involved in creating a House System to further enhance pupils' sense of belonging to the Williamwood community. Parent Participation and Engagement This School Improvement Network will explore the ways in which we communicate with parents and ensure that opportunities to contribute to school improvement are frequent and meaningful. Self-Evaluation for Self-Improvement This School Improvement Network will continue to build on the self-evaluation carried out on a daily, weekly, termly and annual basis, leading to further improvements across the school community. Leadership The focus of this School Improvement Network is to provide opportunities to develop leadership qualities in our young people and the staff engaging with them in their school life.
