S4 Saltire Award

Evie volunteered her time supporting young people in the Communication Support Service and in an S1 Art Class. Her work is excellent and the staff are really enjoying having her support in class twice a week.

Evie is extremely sensitive to the needs of individual young people and has shown a real commitment to this work, developing her own confidence and understanding of the various additional support needs and what support can be put in place to help.

She has achieved her Gold Saltire Award after engaging in fifty hours volunteering and will also achieve a Personal Development Award at the end of S4.

Our tournament is starting early this year and is being expertly organised by Abhi in S3. Keen chessers flocked to the club this week to sign up for the competition and were given a presentation about the rules and etiquette of tournaments. It is great to see pupils from S1 to S6 getting involved and we look forward to the match games which will take place in a silent room next to the club room.
