#Be Kind Campaign

The #BeKind campaign awarded Scott (S6) and Mrs Carr with the ‘PTA Be Kind of the Year Award 2021/22’ for their exceptional acts of kindness in what was a very challenging year. Thank you for making Williamwood a kinder place. Congratulations to both!

Sports Day

Congratulations to all those who qualified and participated in our sports days this year. Pupils competed in 7 events over the two days, with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed athletes in each event receiving a gold, silver or bronze medal respectively. As always, points were also awarded to the top 8 athletes in each event and then accumulated to establish the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd sports champions of this year – attached are the overall points.

We were very honoured to have Jamie Murphy at the closing ceremony to present the trophies. Jamie is currently playing for Hibernian, having previously played for Rangers, Sheffield United and Brighton & Hove Albion. He has also represented Scotland at senior level. Many thanks to Jamie for giving up his time to celebrate these young athletes’ successes and also to provide such a positive role model to all our pupils.

Pupil Achievement

A further congratulations to Elliot, Rory, Eden, Noah and Elias who have now received their Crest Gold Awards following their success with their Industrial Cadetship Gold Awards. Williamwood High School wishes them well for the next step in their journey and we look forward to them returning to the school in the future to inspire future year groups.

School Uniform

A copy of this year’s uniform letter has been emailed to all parents/guardians, can be viewed here as well as in the Information section of the school website.

Due to current circumstances, we were unable to invite Stevenson’s uniform supplies to the school to provide a uniform evening. However, details on how to order online and book an appointment in the new store can be found here. School uniform items can also be purchased online from Academy Uniforms Limited.

The standard of school uniform at Williamwood High School continues to be very good. Uniform is an important aspect of the positive ethos within the school. All pupils in S1-S6 are regularly reminded of the standard of school uniform which is expected at their year group assembly. Your ongoing support with this matter is greatly appreciated. Additional information about the standard of uniform can be found in the Information section of the school website or here as well as the link to the Dressing for Excellence leaflet which can be accessed here.

S3 DYW Event

On Tuesday, our new S3 pupils participated in a Developing the Young Workforce Event which looked at developing skills for life, learning and work. The pupils were challenged to create a product for a number of high profile companies and then present their work. We were very impressed with the work the pupils produced throughout the day and hope that they had an enjoyable experience.
