S3 netballers face a long round trip to Anstruther, Fife on Monday 9th March to take on Waid Academy in their Scottish Schools Silver semi-final. We are hoping to continue our journey to finals 2020 by leaving it all on the court and trying our utmost to achieve our goals for this season. Play well girls!
Open B netballers (S4 & S5) are travelling north to Strathallan School, Perth on Tuesday 10th March to play their Scottish Schools Silver semi-final. Pupil Achievement
Memorial Video
A memorial event for Heather McCandless has been organised to take place in the school on Friday 6th March. We are delighted that many of Heather’s family and friends from Ireland have confirmed that they will be able to join us as, I am sure, will many former staff, current and former pupils and their parents.
As a school, we are creating a video of favourite stories about Heather or a message for her family. This can be as an individual or as a group. David Hunter will be available to organise this video on Monday 24th February from 9am until 5pm in the conference room, for anyone who wishes to leave a message for Heather’s family. Please drop in at a convenient time, if you would like to be included in this video.
Application form can be found here.

Congratulations to the Open B netball team (S4 & S5) on their tremendous victory against Kyle Academy yesterday. The girls played efficient netball, eventually running out 48 – 15 winners. They will now face a semi final against Strathallan School, Perth.
WILLIAMWOOD CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The school cross-country event is due to go ahead as planned tomorrow morning at Rouken Glen Park. Approximate race times are as follows:
· S3 Boys and Girls – 9.30 – 10.15
· S1 Boys and Girls – 10.15 – 11.00
· S2 Boys and Girls – 11.00 – 11.45
Pupils involved are asked to dress accordingly, as the forecast is for some rain showers. If the weather changes for the worse, we will post a message on Twitter by 8am tomorrow with an update.
A reminder that his year’s event is more of a “park run”, meaning pupils will be running almost entirely on the concrete paths.
Barclays
Barclays would like to invite parents to one of two ‘virtual’ insight events taking place during Scottish Apprenticeship Week. These events are specifically for parents to help them discover more about our Apprenticeship opportunities and to share this with their children. Parents will have the opportunity to hear from our business, our Apprentices/Apprentice-Parents and our Early Careers teams. We will also walk through the application and assessment process and the support available through our LifeSkills programme, with the opportunity for Q&A at the end.
The parents we are keen to engage with are:
- S3 to S6 Parents, interested in finding out about Graduate Apprentice opportunities for their children, either for applications this year or for 2021 and beyond.
- Any parents interested in Barclays Apprenticeships overall.
Session Times
Parents will take part individually using simple pc technology details of which our delivery partner, Channel Talent, will send prior to each session. The available session times are:
- Session 1 (5th March) @ 19.00-19.45
- Session 2 (6th March) @ 19.00-19.45
