SPRINGTIME IS HERE AT LAST!

We went to Kittochside Farm Park. We even got to see some animals. We saw a baby lamb only a few hours old, a horse called Mhari, some huge pigs, some baby calves and cows also hens, chickens and eggs. A tractor took us to the farm, we were on Dougal the shoogle, the farm was a bit smelly!
Last Thursday we had a surprise visit from firefighters. They came in a fire truck. We got a shot of the hose and sat in the cabin. Lots of us put the hat on and the breathing mask, Miss Stead even had the uniform on. She said, “it was very, very heavy.”
On the 25th March we had Dream Big Day, we all dressed up as the person we wanted to be when we grew up. Harry, Sophie, Emma, Aleeza, Abby and Lily want to be teachers – look out Giffnock Primary! There were lots of Scientists, explorers, vets, doctors, nurses, policemen and firefighters.  We enjoyed our visit from storytellers who shared tales about a baker, it was very funny.
We have had a very busy month and are looking forward to entertaining you in our ‘Spring Eggstravaganza.’

February Fun in Primary 1!

We went to Eastwood Park for our Winter walk. We were looking at the changes in the park since Autumn and spotted some signs of Spring. We saw little buds of daffodils and crocus and some beautiful white snowdrops.
We had a Science Show called ‘The Big Drip’ it was about Materials and how they can change. We learned that liquids can change into solids e.g. lemonade can change into ice lollies if you put it in the freezer. We helped the Scientists to solve the mystery.
As part of our Farm to Fork topic we will be going to Kittochside Farm in March. We are really excited as we will see lots of animals and maybe go on a tractor.
