St Cadoc’s Ski Team

I am delighted to announce the success of St Cadocs Ski Team winning the Scottish Schools Dual Slalom Finals which were held at Snow Factor at Braehead. The Advanced team comprised Isla Ward, Erin Ward and Luke Burke.

Eight qualifiers were held all over Scotland, with over 100 schools taking part. Only the winning team in each category was brought through to the finals. St Cadocs won a very competitive qualifying round in the experienced category at Glasgow Ski Center in Bellahouston, with all four of the team members required to race their best to qualify. Isla, Erin and Luke showed their great race experience and skill, and non-race trainee Kerry was a fantastic addition showing great determination to help ensure the team qualified.

We are all delighted they lifted the trophy for the 2nd year running, and all four children received medals as well as the shield.

Flu Immunisation

The Flu vaccine will be offered to you child this year and you will receive a consent pack.  Your child will bring this home shortly. Within the consent pack there is an information leaflet, please read it carefully.

The children are offered the nasal spray vaccine which contains a small trace of pork gelatine.  Gelatine is a common and essential ingredient in many medicines, including some vaccines.

Many faith groups, including Muslim and Jewish communities have approved the use of gelatine containing vaccines.  It is, however, an individual choice whether or not, to receive the nasal spray vaccine and it is recognised that there will be differing opinions within the communities.

The nasal spray vaccine is more effective but you may request the injectable alternative (Please tick the box on the consent form if you wish to request this for your child).

Please read over this information carefully.
