The History department are going to Liverpool and Manchester on an overnight trip from the 22nd September to the 23rd 2022. Christmas foodbank appeal

The social subject department are collecting food bank items this year in the lead up to Christmas. We are collecting items for the East Kilbride based food bank charity, Loaves and Fishes. Pupils are encouraged to bring in cans of vegetables, cans of fruit and veg, pasta, rice and cereal. Any help would be greatly appreciated! S4 Study skills

As we approach our prelim diet, S4 pupils should make use of our study materials and notes. WW1 Trenches Trip

The remaining part of our S2 History cohort visited the Trenches at Pollok Country Park on Thursday 7th June. They had a fantastic time communicating using semaphore, examining artifacts found on the Western Front and using a WW1 flight simulator. Well worth a visit! 

1960s Visitor

1a4 were delighted to have a visit from Mr McArthur, a survivor of the 1960s, as part of their studies on the time period. Mr McArthur took part in a question and answer session on 1960s culture, fashion, music and global events. The class thoroughly enjoyed hearing the stories of a man who lived through this time period.

School Closure – Work From Home

Higher History Pupils should be working on their assignments, completing questions on the Migration and Empire topic and doing general revision. S2 Holocaust Survivors Visit

This week as S2 History pupils had the privilege of meeting Holocaust Survivors Henry and Ingrid Wuga who told the story of their escape from Nazi Germany through the Kinder Transport in 1939. They discussed their experience of life in Britain as teenage Jewish refugees and allowed children to examine their artefacts and photographs from the time.
