The S2 Accounting course will focus largely on basic concepts of accountancy and personal finance. Pupils will have the opportunity to prepare cash budgets for personal spending and business spending, develop an understanding of employment, wages/salaries, different taxes and national insurance. This leads to pupils being able to further explore budgeting, considering common day to day expenses such as mortgages and rent, council tax, household shopping etc.

This course is designed to cover a number of areas that are linked with skills for life, learning and work.

As the course progresses to National 5 and beyond the course focuses on business accounting, so this is a great opportunity for pupils to find out about these concepts in a personal sense.
