Science center visit

Primary 6a loved their visit to The Science center this week. They had plenty of time to explore all three floors and each child enjoyed discovering and experimenting with all the different activities.

Of course the reason for our visit was to prepare P6a for the imminent arrival of their new babies!

The hatchery will be delivered to the school this coming week and  we shall receive the fish eggs the week after. The children were enthusiastic and attentive as they were taught how to use the equipment and how to care for the fish. Regular updates will follow and please join us at our coffee and chat to hear about our journey and learning related to Clyde in the Classroom.

First week of term 2!

What a busy first week back.

Children have been revising their Strong maths techniques from last term and working through their tasks.

They began reading “The Witches” by Roald Dahl.

From here we looked at descriptive language and stereotypes of witches.

This allowed them to create individualised visual images of a witch.

Maab and Nieve shared their science presentation with the class. Everyone was very impressed!

During problem solving the children took on the role of the teacher to explain their answers to algebraic problems.

Coffee and chat

Primary 6a would like to showcase their Clyde in the Classroom progress so.  They also wish to discuss how it is promoting sustainability and how it links in with the Eco schools Scotland competition.

W/b 7 January 2019

Happy New Year to you all.

Class homework this week is as follows –

Spelling words and Multi sensory approaches can be found on Google classroom

Numeracy homework is set via Education City. Children have their own unique username and password which we have been using in class. Homework tasks are set and your child should be able to find these once they log on.

If there are any issues accessing any of the homework please encourage your child to speak to Mrs McBrearty or Mrs Nelson and we will try to help. Chromebooks can be accessed in school via the Early Bird club (8-8.45am) or in the Family room (3-4pm) with an adult present.
