Health Fair – Thursday 21 March

We are writing to tell you about the Health Fair that P6.21 and P6.22 are planning.  It will be held on Thursday, 21 March 2013 from 6.30pm to 8pm in Mearns Primary School.  There will be lots of fun for all the family.

 We will have local businesses such as Adrenaline Bikes, Nuffield Health, Yo Sushi, Mearns Castle Golf Club and local sports clubs in attendance.

On the night there will be the opportunity to enter our Health Raffle.  We would appreciate if you could donate some prizes for the Health Raffle, such as sports products, beauty products or anything health or sports related.

Sport Your Trainers Day – Monday 11 March 2013

On Monday, 11 March 2013 Mearns Primary is participating in ‘Sport Your Trainers Day.’ ‘Sport Your Trainers’ is the national campaign which asks people to wear their trainers as a symbolic gesture of support for Glasgow 2014. It’s taking place on Commonwealth Day, Monday 11 March 2013. Staff and pupils of Mearns Primary are being encouraged to wear their trainers with their school uniform to school on ‘Sport Your Trainers Day’, Monday 11 March.

After School Clubs – WB 11 March 2013

Please note that clubs taken or supervised by teaching staff will not take place week commencing 11 March – 15 March due to Parent Teacher Interviews. The following clubs will take place as usual:

Rock Up in Red Day – Friday 1 February

Pupils and staff in Mearns Primary will raise money for the British Heart Foundation by participating in Rock Up in Red Day on Friday 1 February 2013. 

On this day everyone is asked to wear something red and to make a £1 donation to this worthwhile cause.  A letter will be sent home with further details.

Also on this day, Primary 7 pupils will organise a Bring and Buy Sale and every class will have an opportunity to visit the sale and buy something.

We are looking for donations such us toys, DVDs, CDs, computer games, books, etc.  We will not be selling any food at the Bring and Buy Sale.  If you have any donations, please send them into school.
