As a loyal education customer with Waterstones, Newton Mearns, we thought you might be interested in our National Poster competition for children to design the posters for our Father’s Day promotion. The brief is simple: the kids have to design a picture of them and their father/father figure/person they’ll be treating this father’s day, and the winner sees their image used in bookstores across the country. Not only that, but they get a £20 voucher to spend in Waterstones on books. Which might mean they pick that perfect Father’s Day gift – – or perhaps something for themselves! We are attaching copies of the entry form for any interested parties. These must be handed to the store by the closing date. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us! And please feel free to pass this on to anyone you think may be interested, too!

The winner(s) will receive a £20 (or € equivalent)Waterstones Gift Card and their drawing may be used in publicity, POS, marketing or other literature in our shops, online or otherwise We also thought that libraries and schools might be interested in our Children’s Book of the Month. Oksa Pollock and the Last Hope is the French riposte to Harry Potter, with a young girl discovering not only her incredible magic powers, but also realising her destiny is far greater than anything she could have dreamed of. Its a brilliant adventure for 9-12 readers, and indeed, any adults who like a bit of magic in their reading. Copies are in store now and are selling like hotcakes! We think it might be the perfect addition to any school library!
With many thanks, and we look forward to seeing some of your pupil’s artistic endeavours!
