Under the Sea

The children have been looking at life under the sea after showing an interest in television shows like The Blue Planet.

The Art, Water and Sand area are all focused on the children exploring sea life and creating art work to demonstrate their learning.  Look out for the lovely colourful displays as you walk round the Nursery!

Scottish Literature and Burn’s Night

With Burn’s Night just around the corner, Natalie has been looking at Scottish Literature with the children.  They’ve loved reading and discussing ‘The Reiver Rat’ – the Scots version of ‘The Highway Rat’ by Julia Donaldson.  They have explored rhyming words and tried to work out the Scots words using the context of the story. They have been introduced to Robert Burns and  enjoyed listening to some of his poems, such as ‘My Love is Like a Red Red Rose’.

We look forward to celebrating with some more Burn’s poetry on Thursday and we’ll hopefully have Scottish snacks for snack time. The children can wear tartan if they would like to.
