Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement Act 2006: Implementation | |||
The Act aims to improve the quality and extent of parents’ involvement in their own child’s learning and in education and in schools more generally. It modernises and strengthens the framework for supporting such parental involvement. It places duties on Scottish Ministers and education authorities to promote parental involvement, and a duty on each education authority to prepare a strategy for parental involvement. It also introduces a new system of Parent Councils to replace the current School Boards, by August 2007 |
The Kirkhill Parent Council exists to foster the home/school link. It holds meetings during the year. It is hoped that all families will become members and take an active part in the activities of the Association.
