MacMillan Coffee Morning

Thank you to everyone who came to support our coffee morning.

It was lovely to see everyone and delighted that some of our old members of staff came to say hello.

Thank you to everyone who donated home baking, it was delicious and much appreciated.

Congratulations to all our raffle winners including Margaret, our nursing support assistant who won the delicious chocolate cake donated and made by Kat McInness.

Loch Ness staff and pupils all worked so hard organising the event and I’m sure you will agree that it’s been a great success.

We are delighted to tell you that we have raised the magnificent some of over £630.

We were delighted to recieve 2 cheques today for £240 each.

This money was raised by Chloe Mason’s auntie and work colleauges at Farmfoods in Cumbernauld who decided to raise some money on International Autism Day, 2nd April.
Everyone was encouraged to wear something blue and donate £1 and the response was amazing.

They decided to donate the money to the school and the company matched the total raised by the staff, giving us £480 in total.

We are delighted with this very generous donation and will be used to support fun, learning experiences for the pupils.

Parent Council Raffle

Would you like to win a VIP Night out in Glasgow with dinner for 2 and overnight stay?

Our Parent Council have donated a fabulous overnight stay at the Exclusive Blythswood Apartments and dinner for 2 at the Fabulous Eatery “Red Onion” to raise money for school funds.

Raffle tickets are priced at £1 per ticket and and a covering letter has been sent home via the home/school diaries. Each pupil will recieve a strip containing ten tickets.
Extra tickets can be purchased from the school if you require more.
All tickets must be returned to school before Thursday 11th June at 9am.

The draw for this fabulous prize will be made on the afternoon of SPORTS DAY 11th June.

Community Matters at Waitrose

We are delighted to be accepted as the Waitrose “Community matters” donation this month.

So please take every opportunity to drop your wee green tokens in the bucket for IMS. This will allow us to buy some summer science equipment for our outdoors learning areas.

Red Nose Day

Make Your Face Funny for Money

Reminder that tomorrow, Friday, 13th March we are participating in the annual Comic Relief fundraising event. 

This year’s theme is “Make Your Face Funny For Money!”

Pupils and staff are invited to come to school dressed in red. (This can be anything red – clothes, shoes, face or even hair!)

Pupils are asked to bring in a minimum of £1 donation for dressing up.

We will be celebrating Red Nose Day with events throughout the day such as:

  • Splatting our Senior Management Team with cream cakes
  • Bake Sale
  • Face Painting
  • Finishing with a whole school Talent Show in the afternoon.

Please send in some small change  for your child to take part in the above events.

Newton Mearns Through Time

 

Looking for a Christma gift, then read below.

A new pictorial book NEWTON MEARNS THROUGH TIME is now on general sale.

Written by Graeme Smith and Anne Robertson, with much of the new photography assisted by Queen’s Park Camera Club members Mike McCreery and Eddie Horn, the book with over 180 photographs, mainly in colour, is published by Amberley Publishing.

 All royalties are being donated to the Isobel Mair School. 

The authors will be at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday 29th November to sell copies at the discounted price of £10 per copy.  Each book sold  will mean a saving of £5 on the retail cost for the purchasers and another £2.50 for the school funds.

Be a hero for the day, Children in Need!

BE A HERO

Next Friday (14th November) we are participating in the annual Children In Need fundraising event.

This year’s theme is “Be A Hero!”

Pupils are invited to dress up as their favourite hero for the day (This could be a superhero or their favourite idol etc.)

We will be celebrating Children In Need with events throughout the day culminating in a whole school assembly in the afternoon.

Pupils are asked to bring in a minimum of £1 donation for dressing up and taking part in the activities.

Parent Council Raffle

“Kylie at the Hydro”

Last 2 days to get your raffle tickets to win the chance to go and see Kylie Minogue at the Hydro in November.

Tickets are available from the school office, £5 per strip and the winner will be announced at the Parent Council Meeting on Thursday evening.

Buy some tickets and support the Parent Council who are raising funds for the school and Family Centre.

Jeans for Genes Day

Thank you to everyone who supported the Jeans for Genes Day on Friday.

We are delighted to inform you that we raised £145 and this money will be sent to the foundation along with the money raised from the Family Centre.

The total amount raised was IMS £153.75, Family Centre £89.60

So the grand total to be sent to Jeans for Genes is £239.65

Thank You to everyone who donated to the charity coins in Waitrose.

Today some of our pupils went to Waitrose to recieve the cheque. We were delighted to find out the generous amount was £433.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed,  the money will be used to buy some new equipment for the pupils.

Red Nose Day @ IMS

We will once again be supporting RED NOSE DAY 2013 at Isobel Mair School and are trying to raise as much money as possible to help support other children at home or abroad.

Here are some of the fun activities that we will taking part in on the day.

Wear Something RED for Money
We want everyone to enjoy Red Nose Day by wearing something RED. This can be anything from a pair of red socks, a red nose or hair accesory. All we ask for is a donation.

Pie Throwing
The student council have made a request for staff willing to take a pie in the face – all for the sake of charity!
We had a bigger response than we thought, so there will be plenty of opportunity to hit one of your favourite teachers in the face.
If youy child would like to lob a pie in their direction then they can buy one for £1.

Red Hamper Raffle
We have been collecting items for a hamper raffle. Tickets are £1 if you would like to be in with a chance of winning this fabolous prize. Tickets wil be on sale from Wednesday.

Nail Bar
Spoil your fingers! Get pampered and get your nails painted by the very experienced Cassie and Chloe  from S5. A plain colour will cost £1 and a funky design will cost £1.50.

Leg Waxing
Some of our hairier members of staff ( Mr McLaughlin and Mr Holmes) have agreed to a sponsored leg wax!
Not only will we get to see them squirm, other staff members will be able to pull a strip off……………… for a small donation of course!

Chocolate Fountain and Cakes
There will be a chocolate fountain with a variety of things to cover in chocolate, as well as yummy home made fairy cakes.

Face Painting
If you haven’t already bought a red nose, or just fancy a funny face, get your face painted with your favoutite design!
