Meet the Teacher Evening

Join us on  Thursday 7th September 2017 for Meet the Teacher Evening.

Meet the Teacher Invite (only for pupils in main school)

The overview presentations are aimed at providing information to you about your child’s day at school and some of the different activities they may be engaged in. You are invited to attend this short session and then to join your child’s teacher in the classroom for an informal chat and to ask questions. Parents’ evenings will take place in the near future to allow fuller discussion around your child’s progress.

Growing Together

Very productive morning at the allotment this morning with Irene from West College Scotland as part of the Grow Cook Eat Showcase and Horticulture placement.

After a brief discussion about seeds and how plants grow, the young people were keen to get to work.

This morning the group were sowing seeds, weeding parts of the raised beds and forking the soil.
The students  all worked together sharing skills  to help improve the allotment and gain new horticultural skills. This will allow them to present these skills as they progress and use them in a wider context of their learning – the end of year showcase and for lifelong learning.

The rain didn’t stop them working and eventually the sun came out as everyone worked together.

Free the Dinosaurs!

Free the Dinosaurs!

Class Orkney have had a great afternoon experiencing different dinosaur related activities for their dinosaur mini-topic.  The frozen dinosaur eggs were a real hit and the pupils demonstrated great problem solving skills to get the dinosaurs free from the ice!
