In PE we played Swedish Long ball. Basically one person throws a ball and another has to kick it. You have to run to bases without being touched by the ball but if someone catches the ball before it touches the ground you are out. We really enjoyed playing this game.
We had our Christmas party on Wednesday morning where we played lots of fun games and we watched Prep and Landing while having our juice and snacks. It was a super festive treat!
On Thursday we completed our STEM project all about Smoky Homes. We were learning about the respiratory system in Science and through our Mission 2030 work learned that a lot of people die in developing countries because of smoke in their homes. We had to design and create a new stove which could help to solve the problem.
In maths we were put into teams and we did a problem solving relay race! It was great fun J We had to work together to try and answer the problems and go to Mrs Lamont to check them before we could move onto the next challenge.
Mrs Lamont’s gift to us was making melted snowman. It was really fun and tasty. We used biscuits, jam, icing, marshmallows and chocolate to create them…yummy!
We have learned how to draw different types of winter related things…we created festive penguins, snowmen, santa, an elf and a reindeer portrait. These have given us lots of ideas to create lovely Christmas cards.
We are excited about our holidays and looking forward to coming back to school in the new year. Have a lovely holiday everyone!
