Our learning this week

In Writing, we wrote non-chronological reports about the Kindertransport: the Kindertransport was a way to send Jewish children to Britain from Germany at the beginning of the Second World War. We looked at different people that helped Jewish children to escape Nazi persecution and travel to Britain. We got information sheets and made notes then used this for our reports.

Lovelace have completed their angles topic in Maths. We have been learning how to calculate angles and the names of different types of angles; this included complementary, supplementary and alternate angles. Einstein have started learning about percentages. We have learnt how to convert a fraction to a percentage by finding equivalent fractions with a denominator of 100 or 10.

In Science, we have been learning about the Solar system. We have each chosen a planet to research and have taken notes from a variety of sources including videos, research online and an information sheet. We have also been drawing diagrams of the Solar system to demonstrate what we have learnt.

In PE we are working on improving our fitness. We did the bleep test where you have to run a certain distance before the bleep. The girls have enjoyed their first weeks of swimming and have worked on diving down the bottom of the pool, pushing off and have used our favourite strokes as a warm up.
