this week in P6 28/10/16

This week in P6 we have been very busy learning.

Maths

We have been learning about fractions, capacity and volume.

To learn about fractions, we cut out shapes, and to split them equally we used a ruler. We also learned about tenths through cubes. To learn about volume and capacity, we used different containers to measure water. (Amina and Ruby)

Language

In language we wrote and entered a competition to write a bedtime story on animals. We took inspiration from the autumnal season and wrote spooky stories to scare each other with. We used lots of great adjectives, adverbs, alliteration and similes. (Amina and Ruby)

Kayla has been teaching us sign language. So far we can sign the numbers 1-10 and we can say sorry and thank you. We are looking forward to learning more!

We learned the parts of the body in French by singing Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes – in French!!

Science

In science we have been learning about our new topic, the human body. Throughout this topic we have been discovering many interesting facts about the body. We have learned about the function of our skeleton, and how non-vertebrates can squeeze in and out of tiny spaces! (Amina and Ruby)
