Congratulations to Orla McEntee s3 and Weronika Shroder s2 for their excellent imaginative drawing entries to the John Byrne Drawing Competition. Very high standard and fingers crossed for the judging.

Congratulations to S1 pupils Bevan Cornez and Hannah Salvaterra who won first and second prize respectively  in the St John’s Christmas Card competition. The pupils were given quite a limited brief and the chosen winners produced work that was bold, colourful and the cards were sent out across the parish prior to Christmas.

The annual Andrea Kearney Art Prize was won by Luke Wilson S5, the runner up was Anna Mercer S2.

On Tuesday the 1^st of December, pupils in the art department had the opportunity to meet acclaimed illustrator David Peter Kerr. Throughout the morning he delivered a presentation to S1, S2 and S4 pupils featuring his work, this was followed by a workshop, during which, pupils illustrated their own mini comic.

During the afternoon art and design and technical department upper school pupils were fortunate enough to get the opportunity to listen to David Peter Kerr along with other practising artists and designers allowing pupils to understand the way in which creative industry operates.
