The P6 – S3 STEM Fair will take place next Thursday, 12th March from 6pm until 8.30pm at Barrhead High. All P6-S3 students will receive a presentation on the upcoming STEM Fair and are encouraged to attend and find out more about STEM careers and learning.
Please note: Students must be accompanied by an adult
We have organised for a wide range of STEM companies and professionals to attend the school inlcuding Rolls Royce, NHS, Institute of Civil Engineering and local universities. Students will be able to quiz the engineers and scientists on what their jobs entail, and get involved with the experiments/equipment they bring along.
You can sign up for sessions that you are interested in when you arrive on the night.

Barrhead High School
Our Primary 7 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their first taster day at Barrhead High. They had a full day’s timetable to follow and also took part in a range of lunchtime activity clubs.
Primary 7 will be visiting Barrhead High on Friday 6th May. they will be there for the whole day to take part in a range of activities in maths, global citizenship and science. Children must report to Barrhead High at 8.40am. they will be dismissed at 2.40pm but will return to Carlibar for a normal dismissal at 3pm.
Primary 7 pupils have brought home a letter with more details.
Please ensure that you return the forms for your child’s transfer to secondary as soon as possible.
On Friday 30th May Primary 7 children will be going to Barrhead High for the whole day. Children should go straight to Barrhead High in the morning not to Carlibar Primary first. Children will take part in maths and science activities and the day will end with a Science Magic Show in the lecture Theatre. Carlibar pupils will return to Carlibar with their class teacher for a normal dismissal at 3pm.
Barrhead High are having a showcase event on Monday 25th November from 7pm to 8pm. They would like to invite all Primary 6 and Primary 7 children and their parents along to this event. You will be able to
- visit classrooms and see a short lesson
- meet staff and learn about new teaching methods
- find out more about the plans for the new Barrhead High building
- enjoy an exhibition of artwork produced by pupils
- meet representatives of the Parent Council
- chat to some of the current and former pupils.
This is a great opportunity to find out more about Barrhead High. If you are able to come along please return the yellow slip from the bottom of the invite to school asap. Please write the number of people that will be coming along.
All Primary 7 pupils will be going to Barrhead High on Friday the 1st November.
This is the first taster day. Children will be told their class groups when they get to the High School. These are initial groupings and are not the classes that children will be in when they go to Barhead High in June.
Mrs Fleming will be at the entrance to Barrhead High to ensure that all of the Carlibar pupils arrive safely in the morning. A letter will come out to all parents with final details on Monday. All children should bring their PE kit with them on Friday morning. The letter from Barrhead High issued before the October holidays gave further details and arrangements for lunch. Mr McPhilemy and Mrs Monteith will be at Barrhead High all day.
