Skills Academy classes are a feature of our curriculum at Busby Primary School. They have been developed in partnership with pupils, parents and staff. Experts from the wider community are also invited in to enrich the learning experiences of the children.
Skills Academy use the Experiences and Outcomes as a starting point and focus on developing skills for learning, life and work through a range of meaningful experiences and contexts.
Early Level
Our Early Levellers have been learning how to safely use tools and have also taken delivery of a fantastic new workbench on which to create lots of exciting things.
First Level
First level students have been working hard over recent weeks to design and create fantastic hats. The academy culminated in a fantastic Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. The catering for the party was supplied by the First Level Food Technology group and was delicious.
Second Level
In our Skills Academy, we are looking to build an App that will help to support home learning. We have been using AppShed software and are working with Apps for Good.
We worked hard to complete our Apps and are proud of what we managed to achieve.
