Well done to the Euroquiz team: Catriona, Reuel, Tain, Eilidh and Liam. After 3 rounds they were tied for 1st place with St Joseph’s with 51 points. Unfortunately, in the head-to-head tie question, they lost!

Our next House Trauchle is “Busby’s Got Brains”. This will take place next Thursday 9th February. The House and Vice Captains are busy developing questions for the event. We’re sure the children will enjoy this challenge.
Come along to the Parent Council Race night this Friday. Tickets are still available £5.00 from Ishay or Valerie. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start.

There is a Busby Parent Council Meeting tonight at Williamwood High School at 7.30pm. All parents are welcome to attend. The meeting is scheduled to finish at 8.30pm
Mr Fitzpatrick and Ms Raeburn will be visiting P7 on Thursday as part of the transition between Busby and Williamwood. Pupils in P7 will have the opportunity of find out more about the High School.
We will be celebrating Scottish poems and songs on Wednesday the 25th January with two special assemblies where the 3 winners of the class heats will perform their poem or song. The standard of the Art competition is very high and judging is taking place at the moment. The winners will be announced on Wednesday.

The class newsletters are becoming available. These can be found under the ‘Parents’ tab in the class newsletter section.
This year we will be celebrating Scottish poetry and songs to celebrate the life and work of Robert Burns. Each class will select poems to learn and recite. The top three recitals will perform at special assemblies on the 25th January. Child in P5 – 7 also have the opportunity, if they wish, of learning a Scottish song to perform. Pupils in P6 and 7 may also wish to enter the Art competition to illustrate a verse from a Scottish poem.
Please supoprt your child by helping them to learn and recite their chosen poem. We look forward to hearing them.
Please note that the evening sessions for this forum at Woodfarm High School in February and May will not now take place. Further information about this forum will come out later in the year.
Auditions for the principal parts of the school show, “The Wizard of Clarkston” will take place next Thursday and Friday. Children need to sign up on the notice board for the parts that they wish to audition for. All classes from P2 to P7 will be involved in the production. We are all very excited about the production which will be in May at the Eastwood Theatre. More news will follow.
