We thought it would of been easy

Today as part of our science with Miss McAuslan, we were challenged to eat 3 dry crackers in 1 minute. We thought it would have been easy, we were wrong.  We learned that saliva is a watery liquid secreted into the mouth by glands, providing lubrication for chewing and swallowing, and aiding digestion

Digestive System

Today during science with Miss McAuslan, we were learning about the digestive system.  We carried out a very messy experiment to show us the process from the mouth to the intestines.  Let’s just say we looked at our playtime snacks in a different way.

Writing – As the First Minister’s Reading Challenge is being launched this week, we would like you to create a Guess Who type piece of writing based on your favourite character.  On the front of the template you are to describe your favourite character from a book (it can be any character from any book!) and on the inside we are looking for an illustration of of this character.  We will use these in class over the next week and display them in our class library.

Advice

Today our lessons with Miss McAuslan were all based around helping and caring for one another.

This morning we were giving advice to a number of fictional characters – here are some of our examples –

“Little Bo Beep why not try and use a tracking device for your sheep.” Libby and Zoe.

“Incy Wincy, why not move to a hot country where it does not rain” Carla and Imaan.

“Little Red Riding Hood, next time try taking the subway and get your Gran to lock her doors.” Joseph and Nathan.

After playtime, we watched a clip about Jesus helping a blind man to see, we used this as a stimulus to summarise a time when we helped someone and enjoyed sharing our kindness with our friends in the class.

Today in French we created a matching game using the french words for various pets.  We invited p6b to join us and play our games.  We had great fun.
