During Health Week Scotland on 10th-14th June we are encouraging pupils to bring fruit or veg to school at break time as a healthy snack (this is not in addition to a sweet or crisps this should be the only snack they have). Children will get 1 house point for each day they do this. If by the end of the week have brought a piece of fruit or veg on 5 consecutive days they will receive a bonus 5 house points. This week takes place right before the final count of house points and could have a big impact on which House triumphs this year and has the opportunity to attend the end of year trip! Extra fruit and veg snacks will be available for purchase in the canteen during this week and points can be earned this way too!
Please Help!
Dear Parent/Carer,
The pupils in P5, 6 and 7 are preparing for the much anticipated end of year school show. This year, we have chosen “High School Musical” and look forward to the singing, dancing and entertainment! The dates are Tuesday 11th (1.45pm) and Wednesday 12th June (7pm).
We are organising a raffle for the two dates and any money raised will benefit your child in the school. Mrs Ali is looking for any donations of vouchers, gifts or services for the raffle. Anything received will be very much appreciated. If you would like to participate in this, please contact the office or send your donation into school. We appreciate your support in this venture. Thank you!

Homework – Solo Talk
For your homework you have to prepare a solo talk. We want you to talk about your desired future career. Think about;
- What you want to do
- How you plan on achieving this
- What inspired you to choose this career path?
- Is there anyone you admire that is in that career?
Make sure you have rehearsed so you can talk loudly and clearly about your aspirations. You can use a power point or cards to help you. You will be assessed on the following:
- I made eye contact with my audience
- I spoke clearly and expressively
- I used some interesting words
- The information I shared was in a logical order
- I answered any questions that were asked at the end of my talk
You are going to present to the class during the week of the 25th March
Good Luck!

Red Nose Day is on Friday 15th March!
The Braidbar Pupil Council members have organised some fundraising activities on this day. We would encourage children to come to school on Friday 15th March wearing an item of red, and/or a Red Nose Day accessory and to bring a chocolate donation. In the afternoon a chocolate tombola will take place and each class will be invited along for their chance to win! Tickets are priced at 20p each.
As well as this, the lovely dinner ladies are making some Red Nose Day jammy biscuits! These will be 40p (cash) and can be pre-ordered from Monday 11th March.
We can’t wait to raise some money for this worthwhile charity who help vulnerable people in the UK and internationally!

House Afternoon
On Wednesday it is our house afternoon. Remember to come to school in your uniform but you can bring your pyjamas to change into. We will be building forts so any spare old sheets would be great to bring in, if you can.
