High School Musical Success!
A huge well done to all our wonderful students who did an amazing job in their first matinee performance this afternoon! You should all be very proud of yourself knowing that all the hard work and preparations have paid off!
I hope you bring this same fantastic energy to our show tomorrow evening also. Remember to come into school for 6:30pm wearing your costume. You may also want to bring a bottle of water and some money for the tuck shop. We’ll be meeting in the empty classrooms as we did today.
Also, on top of the show there are other arrangements for tomorrow…
Cricketers, you need to be a school for 7:40am as the bus will leave sharp at 7:45am. See your letter for details about the timing of your day.
STEM workshop children. You should be in school for approximately 8:40am. Please enter through the main office and meet in Mrs Kerr’s room. You’ll be back at school for lunchtime.
In the meantime, here are some fantastic show pictures to enjoy.
School Show Raffle
Dear Parent/Carer,
The pupils in P5, 6 and 7 are preparing for the much anticipated end of year school show. This year, we have chosen “High School Musical” and look forward to the singing, dancing and entertainment! The dates are Tuesday 11th (1.45pm) and Wednesday 12th June (7pm).
We are organising a raffle for the two dates and any money raised will benefit your child in the school. Mrs Ali is looking for any donations of vouchers, gifts or services for the raffle. Anything received will be very much appreciated. If you would like to participate in this, please contact the office or send your donation into school. We appreciate your support in this venture. Thank you!
School Show Costumes
Our school show is fast approaching and this week we are looking to organise our costumes. Each child brought home an outline of their costume last week (please see details below). In addition to this, each performer will need a ‘party prop’ such as a party hat, glasses or other party item. This should be something small which can be taken on and off easily.
Can all children please bring in their complete costume and party prop by Friday 31st May. Please make sure all items of clothing, party prop and costume bag have names clearly on display. If you have any questions please don’t hestiate to ask!

We will be planning our costumes for the school show this week. We will try to plan what our characters wear based on clothes we already have, so planning from home should be minimal! Costumes for the show are not expected in school this week but children should let us know if there is something they don’t have so we can organise this as soon as possible. Please let us know if there are any parts of the costume that you cannot source by the end of the week.

If all groups could read through their entire copy of First News. This paper will be kept for this four day week and next week (also four day).

Spelling homework is going to evolve in term 4! Instead of practising a new rule this week, I would like you to use your normal spelling time to think about how you would like to do your spelling homework. What will be interesting and engaging for you to do while also helping you to practise your words? Have a think and we will discuss ideas at the end of the week!
Maths –
Please complete the special maths booklet for Thursday.
School Show –
A small script extract will be issued to anyone wishing to audition for the school show. A specific part will be assigned (although this may be different to the role you wish to play in the actual show!) for you to practise throughout the week, before auditions on Thursday lunchtime.
