Rag Bag Collection

Rag Bag Collection

The ‘Rag Bag’ recycling scheme has been developed to provide regular fundraising for schools in Scotland.

The scheme increases awareness about textile recycling and by increasing recycling rates we can help the environment by ensuring less material goes to landfill.

Help raise funds for the school with textile recycling.

  • Wearable clothing
  • Paired shoes
  • Handbags
  • Belts

Please return bags to school by Monday 17th February. You can bring in bags before this date.

This week in Primary 5…

This week in Primary 5 we have been focusing on our Numeracy and Mathematics skills and strategies. We have been problem solving and learning about financial education through the Moneysense Programme designed by the Royal Bank of Scotland. Primary 5 learned about making choices about money and how this affects feelings and emotions.

School Show

Show week has finally arrived and the boys and girls are very excited to perform for their family and friends!  We anticipate all children will attend both evening performances on Wednesday and Thursday unless you have contacted me to advise otherwise.  P4 and 5 will meet in the Family room and pupils should arrive between 6.15pm  and 6.30pm, allowing adequate time to get changed for show time at 7pm.

Pupils should bring a full water bottle and may bring a small snack to consume during the interval.  It is requested that the children do not bring any electronic devices.  Activities will be on offer to keep the children occupied when they are not on stage performing.

Children will return to the family room at the end of the performance and will be dismissed via the main door at 9pm.  All children must be collected by an adult.

We look forward to seeing many of you and hope you enjoy the show.  Thank you for your support!

Sports Day

Sports Day will take place on the afternoon of Friday 8th June.

Mandala Art

mandala (Sanskrit: मण्डल, maṇḍala; literally “circle”) is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe. The basic form of most mandalas is a square with four gates containing a circle with a centre point.

Primary 5 created beautiful mandala designs during Art. This was linked to the study of Buddhism in Religious and Moral Education.
