Wonder

This week we got to go and watch a preview of the movie Wonder. We went to Glasgow Film Theater in the city centre.

Wonder is an adaptation of the novel by R.J. Palacio. The story is about a little boy called Auggie. He was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome and it follows him starting school.

We have looked at Wonder in class and have been doing lots of different work linked to the story.

‘Fair Test’ Friction Experiments

P6b were investigating the effect friction has on moving objects through fair testing. They were experimenting with different surfaces and recording the time and distance each vehicle took to complete the experiment.

They also recorded each experiment on the iPad using the slow motion video tol so that they could watch their expeiments back to see if anything happened to influence their results.

Homework 30.10.17 – 03.11.17

Homework will now be added to the class blog each week instead of pupils writing it to their homework diaries on a Monday morning.
Pupils have spelling homework from Monday – Thursday with an active spelling activity set for Monday and Tuesday.
Instead of completing the mental maths grids each week, your child will be using both Sumdog and Education City to play games linked to the skills being developed in class.  This week, we are focusing on Education City and your child has their login detials and knows where to find the tasks set.
The whole school homework this week is to create a christmas card design for which there is a help sheet attatched with more information.
