Campus Cop visits Braidbar

On Thursday we had a particularly busy day. First we had our visit to Eastwood Swimming Pool for our very first session of swimming lessons.

In the afternoon we had a visit from the Campus Cop who gave us lots of interesting information about his job and how to be responsible citizens.

In the evening we had the school Halloween Party which we enjoyed very much.  It was good fun trying to work out who was under the costumes.  Some of the make up was very frightening indeed!!!!

Photographs to follow.

P4 Homework week beginning 30th October

Homework Tasks for this week.

Spelling – Mon – Thurs ( words in spelling jotter).

Mental Maths – Mon – Thurs.

Week beginning  6th November, we will be rolling out numeracy tasks on Education City for your child to work on throughout the week.  This will be in place of the present mental maths sheets.  Your child will log on to Education City with their indivdual username and password.  You will find this attached to the front cover of your child’s diary.  They will then complete the tasks for that week assigned to their numeracy group.

The Rainforest

Primary 4 have been busy working together to plan their new IDL topic about the Rainforest.

I would like to know more about …

Hayah –  the different types of plants and trees.

Musa – the animals.

Jack – the different types of houses.

Oliver – the people who live in the Rainforest.

Liam – what kind of foods are grown and eaten.

Autumn Break

Mrs McNaught and Mrs McAleenan would like to thank the children for all their hard work this term.  A special thank you to all parents for their continued  support of both the children and the teachers.

Enjoy the break and look forward to seeing everyone for term 2.

Listening and Talking

We participated in a listening and talking lesson linked to our Science topic.  We had five statements about water which we sorted into the facts we considered the most and least important.  Our choices led to some very good discussion because we all had different opinions!

To be effective in group discussion it is important to have…

Charlie – good eye contact

Nathan – listen carefully to what the other person is saying.

Suha – don’t talk over someone who is talking.

Haya – don’t fidget when someone is talking.

Ben – carefully watch hand and head gestures.
