Perimeter and Area

Primary 5 worked with a partner to solve perimeter and area problems. Perimeter is the distance around the outside of a shape. Area is the space on the inside of a shape. We used the formula Area = Length x Breadth (A = L x B) to calculate the area of squares and rectangles.

3D Shape

We have also been looking at 3D shapes and describing their properties. We described what the shape looked like in terms of faces, edges and vertices. Some of the shapes we look at were: square based pyramids, cubes, cuboids, spheres, hemispheres, triangular prisms, cylinders and cones.
