Barrhead High have been given a fantastic opportunity to be involved with the Jacobs ENTHUSE STEM project. This is a 2-year project (working with 3 other schools, Jacobs, STEM Learning and Young STEM Leader) that will focus on inspiring and educating our young people, and hopefully encouraging more students to follow a STEM pathway.
The project is currently gathering data from staff and students on how much experience they have of STEM, what they understand STEM to be and where they think things could improve. We are therefore asking all S1 and S2 students to complete this short questionnaire. This will help shape the project moving forward.
Before you start the survey:
1. There are only 5 questions.. so not too much work.
2. The questions talk about a subject called “D&T”…This is Design and Technology.
3. The questions ask you to think about “a subject” while filling in the form. Can you all think about SCIENCE.
4. Lastly, you will need your GLOW email to login. That is the one that ends @glow.sch.uk.
Deadline for completion of the surveys is 11th March 2021.
Thank you
Mr Boag (PT STEM)

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is offering parents and carers an online opportunity to find out more about how they can help their child make their S2/3 subject choices for the Senior Phase. Scotland’s national skills agency has organised the virtual session on Thursday 25 February which will also give parents and carers information about accessing a wide range of SDS support. If you would like to get involved with the above cyber security workshop, please be aware that you need to register for the event, here.
If you are successful, can you message your Friday, period 5 & 6 teachers and make them aware that you are attending this online event rather than lessons.
