A few parents have been asking about school trips and in particular, refunds.
The Lochgoilhead trip did not happen and we not expecting that any of the other 4 trips scheduled before June will now be able to run.
We are currently in negotiations with all the travel companies and also ERC insurance regarding the situation.
I have requested a full refund from the companies including deposits. Some are wanting us to make a new booking for next year; some are still saying they are not cancelling the trip yet as the trip is not yet ‘imminent’ so we would be penalised with cancellation charges. I am looking to ensure that we get the full money back and do not want to leave it for a booking next year – that may not be a suitable alternative for everyone.
If the companies do not offer a full refund, we need them to confirm that in writing to allow us to then seek insurance cover. I have asked again for a reply from all of them within the week although some are not responding so far.
I am optimistic that we will be able to recover the full cost, one way or another, and will certainly pass that back to parents asap once we receive it.
Thank you for your patience at this challenging time. I would hope to be able to clarify the situation within the next few weeks.
Mr Sinclair
