Graphic Communication:
Graph Comm is a classroom-based qualification which focus’ on sketching, Computer Aided Design and Desktop Publishing.
National 4 assessment:
2D Graphic Communication
3D and Pictorial Graphic Communication
Added Value Unit ( this is completed in class)
National 5 assessment:
Question paper: 80 marks 2 hours ( in the exam hall)
Assignment: 40 maks 8 hours (in-class time)
Practical Woodworking:
Woodwork is practical class that allows pupils to gain knowledge and understanding of the workshop, the tools, and wood as a material.
National 4 assessment:
- Flat-frame Construction
- Carcase Construction
- Machining and Finishing
- Added Value Unit (completed in class)
National 5 assessment:
Question paper 60 marks (scaled down to 30): 1 hour (in the exam hall)
Assignment 70 marks (completed in-class time)
Design and Manufacture:
The main purpose of the course is to allow candidates to develop the skills and knowledge
associated with designing and manufacturing.
The course enables candidates to develop:
- skills in designing and manufacturing models, prototypes and products
- knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- an understanding of the impact of design and manufacturing technologies on our environment and society
National 4 Assessment:

National 5 Assessment:
Question paper 80 marks: 1 hour and 45 minutes (in the exam hall)
Design Assignment — 55 marks: completed in-class time
Practical Assignment — 45 marks: completed in-class time
