Course Outline

In S2 you spend your time between the classroom doing graphics and design work and the workshops doing practical work.  S2 builds on your previous skills from S1 as well as developing new ones.

In the workshop you will make:

The AMP

A phone AMP which makes the sound on your phone louder. This project is a woodwork project which lets you increase your confidence in the workshop and lets you access new machines and tools.

The Door Hook

The door hook gives you an introduction to metalworking- we will look at the tools, equipment and health and safety that goes with it. You will also get to use the dip-coating machine to add colour to your model.

In graphics:

We will continue to build our skills in sketching, Desktop Publishing (PagePlus) and CAD (on Inventor).

We try and link with industry, create competitions and enter competitions as much as possible to make our learning realistic.
