Composition
Submit a folio of two pieces of your own music compositions using all the NQ level concepts. Two contrasting styles of composition are required. You will use keyboard, your own instrument and the Sibelius Music Computer Software programme produce the final folio.
Listening
At Advanced Higher level pupils now explore various styles and periods of Musical development. Audio and audio visual materials are used to engage learners to recognise Music in differing contexts.
Analytical Commentary
Pupils are required to submit an Analytical Commentary to SQA which demonstrates an in-depth analysis of two musical works. Using the NQ concepts, pupils are required to produce a critical essay displaying an understanding of the musical ideas presented within the works.
