We had lots of fun this week playing maths games outside. We also learnt all about famous mathematician Escher & his fascinating tesselations. We then created our own tiling designs.

Rocket Launch
World Book Day
Today was World Book Day. We had a fantastic day celebrating our love of books. We joined a World Book Day Assembly with David Walliams, we made our own bookmarks, we listened to Harry Potter, we did some Harry Potter mindfulness colouring, we solved word searches, we designed and created our own comics, and we tried to guess which of our Senior Management Team were the Masked Readers of the stories we listened to! Some of us dressed up, too.
Space!
We have been learning about our Solar System this week. We learned that the sun is a star at the centre of our solar system. The 8 planets, including Earth, revolve around it. The moon revolves around Earth each 27.3 days. We learned about day and night. Here we are in pairs, pretending one of us is Earth and the other the moon. We learned that from Earth, we never see  the back of the moon, only the front!
Creative Time.
We have been working so hard this week, we definitely earned our Creative Time. At Creative Time we get to choose what to do – we can play a turn taking game with friends, we can draw, read, colour, build with Lego, do a puzzle, build a domino rally, create a marble run, create shapes with 3D straws – the list is endless!
Christmas Cards
We followed instructions carefully today, and created these lovely Christmas cards.
Christmas fun
This week, we have been busy little elves, making candy cane Christmas tree decorations and Christmas Fridge magnets. We watched a fantastic online panto, too.
National Museum Roman Artefacts Experience.
This week we were lucky enough to gain a place on the National Museum of Scotland Roman Artefacts Experience. Â Expert Roman historians set up a live link with selected schools. We got to see real Roman artefacts and asked questions to the experts. They answered all of our questions!
This week we have been having some fun with clocks. We have been looking at o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to the hour on digital and analogue clocks.
