“In our group we acted out a scene from The Gruffalo. I was the fox and I was crossing the bridge”. – Natasha

“I was the little mouse, the other animals asked me for a cup of tea”. – Zoe

“We put banana skin in the bug finder and little bugs came in to get some of it”. – Andrew

” I caught  some little spider eggs, we let them go under the big tree”. – Grace

We created outfits using all recycled materials. Then we had an Eco Fashion Show!

Zoe – ‘I am wearing a hat, a dress, a handbag and a jet pack. They are made out of recycled stuff’

Jessica – ‘We are all dressed up in our eco fashion clothes. I made a dress mostly out of bin bags’

Mr Strang from Mains Farm came to visit our class.  We were learning how to plant our own potatoes.

Each day we water the tubs to help them to grow.

” We were planting potatoes and we gave them lots of water”. – Erin

” I watered the potatoes with the watering can”. – Ronan

Mr Strang has invited P2 to enjoy a tour of his farm. We are looking forward to learning about the workings of a dairy farm.

Mr Strang (the farmer) brought 3 buckets for us to grow potatoes in.

“Mr Strang put stones in the bottom of the bucket (that had holes in it) so that the water could get out and not get jammed.” Jamie

“There was a big bag of soil and I put it in with my hands.” Grace

“I put a small potato in the bucket and covered it in soil.” Zoe

“When I was watering the watering can was really heavy and some of the water fell out of the tub.” Fern

“I liked it when we put the soil in and watching other people pouring the soil in too.” Isla

“We need to sing to them to help them grow.” Jessica

We will be watering the potatoes everyday, everyone will get a shot. We are learning about how things grow. When you water them every day they will start to grow. We want to make chips, crisps, mashed potato, baked potato and use them for printing in art! – P2.2

“We were learning to do a dance. We did a warm up and cool down at the end”.  Murray

“We did dabs in dancing to look cool. It was so much fun!” Sylvie

“At the end , we got to make our own dance moves.” Josh

“It was really good fun. I dressed up as the butterfly from Monkey Puzzle. It is my favourite book.” Fern
