S6 begins with a topic on morality which uses the 1960’s as an example of how social change affects the morality of a population. Pupils then move on to deepen their understanding of prayer through studying the works of St John of the Cross and St Teresa of Avila. Pupils also learn about the psalms and how to pray using the format of Lectio Divina.
A topic based on the film depicting the life of Lord Longford provides pupils with ideal opportunities to consider a range of moral questions as well as the concepts of redemption, salvation and forgiveness.
S6 then undergo topics on the creed, the Holy Spirit and creation.
A topic on St John Paul II’s ‘Theology of the body’ pupils learn about the philosophy of morality.
