Biology is the study of living things around us.

Within the CfE curriculum, you will learn about many different organisms, from tiny microbes to massive mammals. You will learn about plants, animals, the human body and how all of these things work together to live and thrive on planet Earth.

What kind of career can I have?

Those who choose to study Biology go on to a whole host of different jobs.  You may end up working in:

  • Healthcare – such as medicine, dentistry, nursing or physiotherapy
  • Sports science and Nutrition – working with athletes to improve their performance
  • Agriculture, Farming and Green Energy – working to improve access to food and water
  • Animal Care – such as veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing
  • Cosmetics and Beauty – working with the skin, hair and teeth
  • Education – such as teaching or lecturing
