Our Work with Partners

Within the Biology department, we are very lucky to have made partnerships with a variety of organisations and charities.

We have worked for a number of years with this charity, who specialise in picking up sick or injured Scottish Wildlife and nursing them back to full health, eventually releasing them back into the wild, where animals can lead a normal life.

We have begun work on a new conservation project this year in partnership with the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Our colleagues from the SWT came out to visit S1 and we took part in some very interesting activities!

The University of Glasgow – BHF Cardiovascular  Research Centre

Recently, we have been very lucky to host Dr Martin McBride, Senior Lecturer at Glasgow University. Dr McBride lead our S5/6 Higher Human Biology pupils in a hands-on heart dissection and discussed some of the work he has been doing on cardiac hypertrophy.
