Technology Entrepreneur encourages resilience at Turnbull High School

All S5/S6 pupils at Turnbull High School had a talk from world renowned Technology Entrepreneur Ian Ritchie, who explained to pupils how he managed to remain resilient when he missed a business opportunity presented to him by Tim Berners-Lee (creator of the Internet) to invest and develop the World Wide Web at its inception.

This talk was delivered as part of the Speakers for Schools program, and gave pupils the opportunity to experience first-rate advice from a real live Entrepreneur about ‘bouncing back’ from a set-back. Ian Ritchie highlighted the importance of being resilient, encouraged pupils to continually work towards success and explained how set-backs can bring improved strength of character, despite dealing with these ‘knocks’ along the way.

Ian Ritchie engaged in a Question and Answer session and was able to share his valuable business experience to inspire the young people of Turnbull High School, and to enable them to visualise how they can take his advice forward and apply this directly to their own circumstances.

“I found it very enjoyable and interesting. Ian Ritchie gave a very inspirational speech”.

“It was a good talk hearing from him, his talk was informative and it was interesting to hear Ian Ritchie’s story from ups and downs throughout life, and how life is for a entrepreneur. It was interesting to hear about the software he has developed over the years and that was inspiring”.
