The piece that I’m currently working on is the Paul Creston Sonata for alto saxophone and piano. I plan on performing this at the school chamber concert (the same concert that my trio will be playing at).
I am definitely going to perform the first movement of the sonata. However, depending on how my practise is going, I might also play the third movement.
In my lesson at the start of December, I read the piece for the first time with my teacher. I played the piece under tempo and I tried to focus on the rhythm and the notes.
Unfortunately, I have no more lessons until after the Christmas holidays. However, over the Christmas holiday I am going to try and break the back of the first movement and have a look at the third.
