On Saturday 14th April, Katie, 1G, played Badminton for the school in an SSBU competition at Wishaw sports centre. Katie fought hard to the final of the singles but was pipped to the title. A worthy runner up though. Katie then played level doubles with her partner from Inverness and won this time to take the cup. A tough days work for Katie but a great result for her and for Boclair.
Congratulations Katie – your continued hard-work is paying off, good luck in future competitions!
We love to hear about, and celebrate, our pupils’ Wider Achievement. Please use the form to keep us up-to-date with any participation (eg: member of a local tennis club or music group), achievements (eg: player of the month, a new badge from the scouts, PR gained, Grade 3 on the drums) and any key life events (eg: climbed first Munro, run first 10km, volunteered for a charity) outside of school.
Katie Stewart recently became the Highland Under 14 Badminton Champion. Katie competed in Dingwall taking on some of Scotland’s best from as far afield as Orkney, Stonehaven to Glasgow and Lanark. Katie fought a tough final beating Inverness’ top player 21-15, 21-19. Katie then went on to compete in the Doubles coming a credable third before a change of venue to Fortrose. Katie and her mixed doubles partner then won again, taking the Mixed Doubles trophy. Katie trains hard with the National Squad on an almost daily basis so her hard work is paying off.
We’re delighted to hear of Katie’s success and wish her all the best for future events. Hard work pays off!

We had more sporting success from 2D at the end of February from Catriona Scott.
Catriona was part of the Victoria Park City of Glasgow AC U15 Girls 4 X 200m relay team which won gold and the national title at the Scottish Relay Championships at the Emirates Arena on Sunday 25th February. They also set a Club Record for VP Glasgow AC. The finals took place at the start of the Muller Indoor Grand Prix.
A fantastic achievement for Catriona – keep up the great work!
