Independence Skill of the month

Independence Skill of the Month

In the 2 year old room we will be focusing on Independence Skills of the Month. It is important for young children of this age to begin developing their independence skills as this will help them to enhance their movement and their problem solving skills. This may result in less frustrated behaviour that we associate with ‘the terrible twos’ and will support children in the regulation of their emotions.
Please feel free to share any progress your child is making on the Facebook page.

September 2021 – Washing hands

We thought we’d start the year of with a simpler, but important, skill. Many of our children may already be washing their hands but perhaps they forget to pull up their sleeves to stop them from getting wet? They may also only be washing them with water? You can carry this skill forward by repeating it so that your child knows to wash their hands straight after using the toilet or before eating without reminding them. We would love to see your progress on the Facebook page or blog.
