Concept Cat is one of our friends at Whatriggs ECC.

He helps us every week to learn and understand new words with our Word of the week.

He often tells us stories and plays new games with us to help us to understand all of our new and exciting words better

Your children will often see concept cat at Welcomes times, goodbye times and group times as they take part in stories and activities around our word of the week.

Each week you will see our word of the week displayed in the Foyer of the ECC and on the main Whatriggs ECC blog.

Here are some things you can do at home each week along with what your child is doing in the centre to support them with learning our word of the week:

• Read the concept cat story which will be posted on the blog at home with your child.
• Take part in the different suggested activities each week.
• Simply focus on using the specific word more in everyday conversations with your child.
• Show your child the blog post and say that you have been learning this new word and they may then recognise Concept Cat and begin to tell you about it.
