We believe that creating a strong sense of community is central to our core values as a Catholic school. We serve a very diverse catchment area with pupils joining us from across East Ayrshire. We promote the school uniform as one means of creating a climate of acceptance, equality and trust. Regardless of where our young people live, they are united as one community when they are with us in school. We also take inspiration from our partner primary schools, who foster and uphold a strong sense of community and togetherness through their promotion of school uniform between primaries 1 and 7. Our uniform is as follows:
Blazer
School Tie
Black Jumper (plain and without logos)
Black school trousers or skirt
Black footwear (without logos or additional colours)
During the winter, we understand the need for young people to wear additional layers, particularly when travelling from some of our rural catchment areas. We expect that young people will remove any outdoor jackets or branded jumpers when in school. This will help to ensure the safety of our young people and that of pupils attending St. Andrew’s Primary School and Early Childhood Centre.
